Working in heights > 2 meters Safety rules working in heights You must not work at height alone. Before working at heights above 2 meters, a safety assessment must be carried out. The supervisor is responsible. This must be documented. You must use an approved fall arrest harness with two hooks. You must have documented training in the use of the harness. When using a stool or stepladder on scaffolding or external platforms, and the distance to the railing is less than the height of the stool/ladder, you must use a fall arrest harness. Attach the fall arrest harness as high as possible to reduce a possible fall. The anchor point must withstand a force of at least 1500 kg. Block off the area below the workplace if there is a risk of falling objects (see more about falling objects ). Check that the fall arrest harness has an approved annual certification - similar to lifting equipment. Remember, safety always comes first!
